Beyond Talent

I am beyond amazed at the talent of my friend Lori who owns Chasing Claire de Lune and DichotomyInk

She designed this picture using one of my crowns.

It all started when she saw my crowns and fell in love.

She asked me if she could use one of them in her artwork and of course, I said yes!

She blew me away with what she did, so I asked her if she could make me one using my profile picture and my favorite crown.

Lori took it one step further by going to my page and finding a photo of me. Here I am leaning over one of my favorite little girls while I was hosting her beading birthday party with my other business called Beading Bellas. What a great party it was, especially because all the kids were wearing darling little tutu's made by her mom.

So...from this picture, she made this.

Isn't it amazing?

This was totally out of the blue and was such a treat for me. I cannot begin to tell you how much I love it and her!

I've always had a thing for crowns. I have my collection scattered throughout my home and like to add to it whenever I see one that I can't live without. Last week, I was at Home Depot with my son and spotted a big roll of wire on one of the end caps. I've always wanted to try making my own, so I put it in the cart and set out to find something that would make it look old and crusty. I made my first crown within a few minutes of getting home, adorned it with some paper flowers and made it large enough to fit one of the mannequins in my studio.

I am so in love with the way it turned out.

I posted it on Facebook and within seconds, one of my friends wanted to know if I could make one for her Santos doll. She sent me a photo of her and I created this one.
Since she was moving into a new home I decided it would make the perfect house warming gift. I hope she likes it.

I was headed to the trash with a dried up bouquet of beautiful peach colored roses that I had left at the townhouse for a few weeks. I decided to keep the heads because the color was so beautiful. At the time I had had no idea what I was going to do with them. Well, now I do.
I love how this one turned out.

This cute little crown went to a lovely lady named 'Queenie' today. I hope she enjoys it.

What great little gifts these would make. I can envision this sitting on a stack of vintage books.

I adore how they are all unique in their own way.

This one is going to a very special friend who not only has purchased many things from me, but always inspires me. It didn't surprise me that she picked this one. It is as lovely as she is.

I can hardly wait to make more.

Where has the time gone?

I see my last post was quite some time ago.  In fact, it has Christmas decorations in it!  I guess I'll just zoom right past the last 6 months and start fresh, because things have been pretty crazy around here.

So here we are at the end of summer vacation and the kids go back to school on Monday.  My master plan is to jump right back into making jewelry, filling up my Etsy shop, blogging and posting on my business Facebook page because they have all been seriously neglected.

I did manager to spend some time organizing my studio, which should help my plan fall into place nicely.  I had a little help from Boston, one of my standard poodles who is always right under my feet and as you can see...sometimes right in the middle of things.

We managed to color coordinate the bead trays and declutter the studio, so that my creative juices can flow.  What a great feeling!

If I remember correctly, this is where I left off when things were going good and I was able to spend time creating.  I was making blue jean jacket pins and I have to say...I'm in love with them!  Here are just a few to give you an idea of what I'll be working on come Monday.

I made this one for a friend that I met on Facebook and was going to Sedona to meet in person for the first time.  She took the photograph on the patio of her hotel room and edited it for me.  She's one talented woman.  Thank you Morgan!

This one was for my sweet Aunt Sharon, who is a breast cancer survivor.  She wanted something bright and colorful.

These went to a store in Prescott called The Niche.

And this one was a gift to my sweet 'turquoise and silver' loving sister.

Life takes many turns and during these last few months I've learned to appreciate and cherish those that I love.  My mother is recovering nicely from her stroke, my dad still remembers me and my sisters have been my rock through it all.  As I move on from here, I hope to be able to take care of my family and also myself by doing what I love, which is creating.

Here's to less stress, good health and rekindling my creative spirit!
