Today's Treasure Hunt

Specs from the 1920's ~ 1930's

One of my favorite things to do is to go junking at our local flea market.  I love digging for treasures and have found so many cool things like these eyeglasses I found today, which are from the 1920's~1930's that I paid all of .25 cents for!   It takes a certain eye for spotting things that someone else might think...what the heck is she going to do with that???  The possibilities are endless, if you can see past the dust and imagine what you can do with the various items you come across.  Instead of going out in search of a specific item, I always go with an open mind and am ready for serendipity to show me some cool possibilities.

I have several booths that I favorite and have become pretty familiar with some of the vendors.  There is my all time favorite couple who sell the neatest vintage jewelry, but are unfortunately only here part time.  I feel like I've known them forever, and they have the coolest brooches and biggest selection that I've ever seen.  I do a serious drool whenever I visit their booth.  There is also a lady that sells vintage jewelry out of the back of her station wagon.  She is a very interesting lady, to say the least, but always gives me an awesome deal on whatever I buy.  You can tell she loves what she does and I love that!  Here are a few bracelets I've made from the vintage earrings that I've purchased from her.  These are super simple to make and I'll be doing a tutorial soon, so that you can make your own.

I also fell for these vintage earrings today.
I have a yummy idea in mind for these dahlings ~ something new that I've never done.  I think its going to be delicious and can't wait to show you when I'm finished.

For some reason, these photo buttons remind me of something I've seen at my grandparents home when I was a little girl.

They are 6 inches across, and the lady I bought them from said they use to attach them to dressers and trunks.  I have no idea what I will do with them, but I fell in love with them.  Maybe I will attach them to a cool 'chippy' dresser which I will keep an eye out for.

And last but not least...
I found these old miners tags (F. T. & R. Co. 8231), which I will put in my jewelry making stash.  You just never know when you might need one.

That was it for today.
I love finding goodies to add to my collection, and can't wait until next Saturday.

  5. I was thinking of keeping a pair for photo props, but would sell them. I was looking for a value on Ebay or Etsy but couldn't find anything that looked exactly like these. Would you be interested?
