Thirteen Dollars and 15 Minutes

I've been redecorating my home in 50 shades of white, creams and grays and have been hunting for some new decorative items, as I got rid of almost everything I had with color except for some peach and turquoise colored items.

When someone comes into my home and compliments me on the way it's decorated, I have to laugh because I am a self professed thrift store connoisseur and have always been one to decorate on a dime.   So many of the items I've collected have come from one of our local Goodwills, flea markets or antique stores.

So today...

I had $13 in my purse and 15 minutes to spare before it was time to pick my son up from school.   I decided to stop into Stepping Stones Thrift to see if I could find anything.

I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw these...

They were perfect.

They are heavy, in great condition and I don't have to spray paint anything.  To top it all off... the urn was $1.49!  The lady who checked me out said, "I think someone was doing drugs when they marked this one."  She also marked the candle holders down a few dollars each, so I even went home with change.

I'm going to be painting the coffee table in a harlequin design (if I can figure out the technique), and the candle holders, along with the rusty bucket with white hydrangeas and my favorite crown will complete the look I was going for.  I have to say...it was another good day!

Tomorrow I'll be back in the studio making some wonderful jewelry....

as long as I don't get sidetracked by Goodwill or a great antique store!

Happy scrounging!
